Tammas Slater

Tammas Slater grew up surrounded by Scottish folk music, beginning to play the accordion at three. From this, he took up the piano at seven, attending Chetham’s School of Music in 2013. Subsequently, he attended Cambridge University, simultaneously holding the posts of Organ Scholar at both Gonville and Caius College and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the English Martyrs, Choir Director at Darwin College and Assistant Conductor with Cambridge University’s Centre for Music Performance during his studies.

Also a composer, his works have been commissioned and performed by many ensembles, including the BBC Singers, the Aurora Orchestra, Fidelio Trio and the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in organ performance at the Royal Academy of Music, and Assistant Director of Music at St Michael’s Church, Highgate.
